Dr.L.Chitra, dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven professional educator with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every student, has completed her Bachelor degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at National Engineering College, Kovilpatti followed by a Master's degree in Power Electronics and Drives at Raja College of Engineering and Technology, Madurai. She's currently pursuing her doctorate MEMS Sensor technology at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. She has a rich teaching experience of 18 years. She started her carrier on 2001, as a Lecturer, in Kamaraj College of Engineering, Virudhunagar where in addition to her teaching responsibilities she was involved in obtaining the ISO, National Board of Accreditation and also Coordinated workshops and National Conference which has won marvels to the institution.
During her tenure she also involved in managing the activities of the Examination cell. Over a successful stint of around eight years at KCET, owing to career development, she joined Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, Chennai, as an Assistant Professor. With her exceptional ability to establish cooperative, professional relationships with staff and administration, she was involved in various academic activities that has paved sustained improvement on quality of education. She was involved in setting up the laboratories, a key to better academic evolution, Procured the instruments for the Laboratories of EEE and Mechatronics branch, designed and implemented three important Laboratories for the students .Played key role in extending two research based labs in the department thereby enhancing the Industry Institute Interactions.
She has Coordinated Faculty Development Programmes, workshops and Guest Lectures inside and outside the college. Also .Coordinated awareness seminars and Competitions regarding the nuclear Energy sponsored by IGCAR, Bhavini and DAE in Pondicherry, Kancheepuram and Chennai. She is a Life Member of Professional bodies such as ISTE and ISA. She is a reviewer of International Journal of Electrical Engineering Education. She has also delivered invited talks in various Engineering institutions. She has received MNRE fund of Rs.1,50,000 for National Conference on Emerging Trends in New Renewable Energy Sources and received a fund of Rs.50,000 from Unnat Bharat Abhiyan forDC Micro Grid based Solar PV generation to supply power to street lamp and common utilities in Arunkundram village.
