Read moreThe Department of Mechanical Engineering AVIT in association with Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC), organized a one day seminar on “OWNING YOUR FUTURE” for II, III & IV year students of various departments.
The expert speakers Dr. V. Thiagarajan, CEO, Omnilearn Edutech Pvt Ltd, Chennai and also Director, ELoop Mobility Services (P) Ltd, Chennai, The chief guest was welcomed by Prof. L. Prabhu, Head – Department of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. D. Bubeshkumar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, organized the seminar and introduced the guest. Nearly 50 students from II, III & IV students of Mech, ECE, EEE, Civil, Biotech participated in the seminar.
In his speech the speaker explained the students about the importance of startups and gave examples of startup companies such as OYO Hotels Founded by Ritesh Agarwal, who started with a single hotel in 2013 and has grown the business in India and Asia countries. He shared his experience in establishing TBI in private university with funding from Govt. of India and guiding 20 first generation Entrepreneurs in their startup ventures. He explained about his project, Autonomous Service Vehicle for the universities, apartments, hospitals etc., He introduced to the students the steps involved in starting the startup companies and how to be a successful Entrepreneur. He emphasized the need for honesty in business.
Outcome: The programme was conducted for the students to motivate the interest in starting up their own business. To develop new ideas in business and discussed types of business models. To make the start up their own start-ups.
