Dr. Jennifer G Joseph,
Professor and Head,
Humanities and Science Department

Dr. Jennifer G Joseph is working as the Professor and head of Humanities and Science department which comprise of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry divisions. She has a Doctorate in English Literature with specialisation in Indian Writing in English. Her current areas of research are ELT, Feminism and Indian Writing in English. She has published more than 20 research papers in national and international journals. She has also published book chapters on Innovative teaching techniques. She established the English Language Lab in the campus and has actively promoted the centre for Foreign Language Learning. She has guided many M. Phil candidates and presently she is guiding 4 Ph. D scholars. She has more than 20 years of teaching experience in AVIT. She is an active member of many professional societies.

As a member of board of Studies, was vital in establishing the UG and PG English Literature Programs for the School of Arts and Science, AV campus. She is a Soft skills trainer and is very active in training both Students and Faculty. She has received best trainer certificate from Infosys Campus Connect. She is a vibrant and passionate personality who believes in holistic development of Students. She is also the first year coordinator and the chief deputy warden of the girls’ hostel in AV campus. In addition she is the cultural coordinator and has been very focused on identifying the talents of students and train them to represent the institution in various cultural programs. She is also a recourse person for English language and soft skills training. She has exclusively addressed both, through webinars and in person, issues related to women safety, in particular awareness on sexual violence and harassment.
