Department of Management (DoM) is the Department of AVIT offering a two year full time Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme. DoM has been functional since 1994 (erstwhile with University of Madras).
It aims to provide the students with the advanced learning that would enable them to upskill themselves to face the challenges in the demanding global scenario and impart managerial skills and entrepreneurial spirit coupled with multidisciplinary research activities.
This programme helps the students to adapt to the modern business requirements and imbibe in them the conceptual and analytical leadership skills to match the competitive requirements of the modern dynamic world.
Committed to the vision of imparting quality management education producing decision makers who can contribute as business practitioners or management professionals with sound ethical values.
To create the right platform and environment for imparting managerial education to all aspirants from any cross-section of the society and develop them into responsible professional business mangers or practitioners in the country and globally.
Prof. Balaganapathy Perambur Sambandan, is currently working as Deputy Director (Department
of Management) at Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, an ambit institution of VMRF.
Prior to joining AVIT, Prof. Balaganapathy Perambur Sambandan got educated and worked in
UK for 12 years. He has graduated in B.Com from Loyola College (University of Madras) in
1996, completed his M.B.A in Marketing from Dr MGR Engineering College (University of
Madras) in 1999, and did his M.B.A. in Knowledge Management from University of Leicester,
UK in 2007 and M.Sc. in Information Systems from University of Aberdeen, UK in 2008. He did
Prince2 Project Management Practitioner from APMG, UK in 2012 and Business Analysis
Foundation from BCS, UK in 2017 with Distinction. He also did a course in Effective
Communication, public speaking and personality development from Ramanathans Institute.
In UK he held various senior positions in multimillion dollar projects in leading companies such as Total, ConocoPhillips, SABIC etc. He has gained experience in Education, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, IT, FMCG, Refining, Pharmaceuticals and Marketing Research sectors. In the education sector in India he has several achievements including a significant role in Introducing VCBS Twining Program involving Vinayaka Missions and Canadian Business School. As the Deputy Director he is currently responsible for developing the curriculum in line with recent trends and growing industry requirements. He has given importance to activity based teaching, experiential learning and employability quotient skill development.
“Curriculum and syllabus” mean the various components/subjects/papers studied in each programme that provides appropriate knowledge in the chosen branch is called curriculum. The curriculum and syllabus for study as prescribed by the Board of Studies (BoS) with the approval of the concern Board of Faculty (BoF) and Academic Council (AC) based on the UGC/AICTE regulations.
