Report on School Sponsorship Program AVIT UBA And Lebara Foundations

As a part of the School Quality Enhancement scheme,Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)cell of AVIT along with Lebara Foundations donated Educational kits to schools of UBA adopted villages. The Lebara Foundation is the international non-profit philanthropic arm of the Lebara Group in the United Kingdom.Since 2008, the Foundation has been supporting communities across the world in improving the quality of life of children.LEBARA Child Development Programme provides services in the areas of Food and Nutrition, Education, Health Care and Safe Drinking Water to displaced and vulnerable children.

Lebara Foundations along with UBA AVIT team surveyed about 10 schools in the UBA adopted villages, Naduvakkarai,Kothimangalam,Arunkundram,Sirudavoor ,Alathur and identified the deficiencies in infrastructure.After peer reviewing it was decided by Lebara foundations to donate the following items worth about 7.5 lakhs.

The above mentioned items were delivered to schools and a sponsor program was organised in Govt Union middle school,Nadavukkarai on 15.03.19. Head masters of various schools were invited for the function.the Headmistress of the school delivered the welcome address.Dr.Anuradha Ganesan,Director ,VMRF presided over the function an delivered the Presidential address. She is her address insisted the importance of school education and also requested all parents to impart education to all their kids,esp girl kids.Dr.Giri rengasamy, Dean,CSR,VMRF and Dr.S.P.Sangeetha, Program Director-ISR,AVIT also addressed the gathering. Mr.Raja and Mr.Selva Kumar from Lebara foundations were the special invitees. The school kids gave a special treat for the audience with their cultural performances.

Mrs.Kottesswari, Head Mistress of Kothimanagalam school proposed the vote of thanks.All arrangements were made by the UBA village coordinators of UBA cell,AVIT. Prof.Surendra Babu, Coordinator, ISR and Dr.Praba Sheela, UBA coordinator coordinated the event.
