Dr.S.P.Sangeetha, Vice Principal Academics, Professor , Department of Civil Engineering is a Civil Engineer completed her Masters and Doctoral degree in Structural Engineering. Has wide experience in Teaching and Designing. She is a active member in Professional societies like American Concrete Institute, ISTE, IAENG, Chennai Civil Engineers Association, Tamilnadu Construction Engineers and contractors association,etc. She is reviewer in many peer reviewed Journals. She has published more than 50 research papers in Scopus indexed/SCI Journals. She has organized several National and International conferences, workshops, guest lecture, and seminars for the students and faculty. , She regularly organizes skill development workshops for creating self employment opportunities especially for the rural women. She is the Chairperson for civil Engineering Board. Her areas of interest are Concrete Technology,Design of Structures,Rehabilitation of concrete structures and Sustainable construction. In association with Ramco cements, she regularly conducts several training programs for educating Masons about recent technologies and good construction practices. She has also wide network with many construction Industries like Enrich Designs, JK cements, Dalmia Cements Ramco,Vijaya Prakash Housing,Sri Janani homes ,etc. She regularly conducts Career guidance programs in various schools for the plus two students.

She has also submitted several Research project proposals to various funding agencies and received funding from Tamilnadu council for Science and Technology and AICTE. She has delivered Technical lectures in various Institutions. She is the Programme Director for Institutional Social Responsibility cell to Inculcate Social awareness, values and environmentally responsible behaviour amongst students. She is the convener for Women Empowerment cell and AVIT centre for Continuing Education, AVIT. She has received “Best Faculty award” from DKIRF (2019) and “Best recognition award’ from Rotaract club of Chennai,” (2019 & 2020) Outstanding Educator award” from SIWAA (2020), “Best Humanity award” from Alaigal Foundation towards her contribution to the society during COVID-19(2020) and Academic Leadership awards from Glad heads-up organisation. (2021). She has received the Ambassador certificate for NEP from Government of India
