| The departments of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics conducted a 4-day Training Programme on “ Innovations and Improvements” in Biotechniques between 8th and 11th of December 2008.
50 participants from different colleges participated in the programme with enthusiasm ( W.C.C., Stella Maris, Loyola, Guru Nanak, Vivekananda, SRM, Jeppiar and Bharath) Dr.P.Kaliraj, Director & Head Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University,Chennai inaugurated the programme and profusely appreciated the efforts taken by the Principal and Faculty of AVIT to organize a meaningful programme of this kind.
The programme was partly sponsored by the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science & Technology (TNSCST) and NCST.
Since this is the Sliver Jubilee year of TNSCST, a request was made to plant 20 saplings in the College campus as part of the 25th year celebrations during the training the programme
Certificates were distributed to the participants on the final day of the programme. |
