The three years MCA program (Master of Computer Applications) was started in the year 1995. The broad objective of the MCA programme is to prepare the students for dynamic careers in
the software industry and academia by providing a conducive environment for teaching and research in the emerging areas of the discipline. The course is designed to provide complete knowledge of computer science, with emphasis on applications. The 6th Semester is dedicated to the project work, to be done in the industry. Over the years, the department has built-up
a well-equipped laboratory and excellent library.
The department strives to achieve academic excellence through value based education to enhance the inherent capabilities and confidence of the students so that they are able to face the challenges of the rapidly changing competitive global scenario. It is the constant endeavour of the faculty to provide the students
with a thorough and sound foundation in the theoretical and application-oriented courses appropriate to latest computer software development. The programme emphasizes
on the application of software technology to solve mathematical, computing, communications/ networking and commercial problems.
For the reason that the courses pertain to modern technology,
it elicits an overwhelming response from students.

Seminar Hall
The Department has an air-conditioned seminar hall which seats more than 50 people
where eminent people from the industry deliver guest lectures.
Computer Laboratory
The computer lab is equipped with the latest hardware and software facilities to handle all the requirements of the students. Students
have the opportunity to develop their skills according to the global needs and international standards.
Internet Facility
The computer laboratory has internet connectivity, which enables the students to enhance their knowledge and develop their skills in their respective areas of interest.
Library
An important asset of the Department is its library, which
also provides a highly conducive environment. The library is well-stocked with books
and reference books and subscribes to a variety of periodicals and research journals which actually is a knowledge feast for the students. |
