Electronics & Communication Engineering - An Overview

Electronics aim at making the life of human beings more comfortable. Communication brings them together. The vast application of Electronics and the rapid advancements in the field of Communications makes the study of this branch a coveted option. This branch lays a strong emphasis on the fundamentals to facilitate students to understand complex Engineering subjects in an interesting and stimulating environment. This course has been designed to meet the needs of the modern Communications and Electronics Industry and has particular strengths in the areas of Digital Signal Processing, VLSI Design, Radio, Radar and Microwave Electronics. It aims to produce technically competent engineers who can enter a variety of fields in the Electronics & Communications Industry and organizations there in.

About the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

The Department of ECE was started in the year 1998.The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi and is certified to ISO 9001:2001 through Moody International. Right from its inception, the Department has been laying emphasis on Teaching and Research activities in diversified areas, thereby moulding students to be critical thinkers, skilled communicators and ethical leaders. It was co-sponsored by TNSCST, IEEE Madras Section, IEEE Communications Society, Madras Chapter, IEEE Computer Society, Madras Chapter, IETE, Chennai Centre.
• The Department successfully organized a 2 day National Conference "NCVESCOM ‘09” – Second National Conference on VLSI, Embedded Systems, Signal processing & Communication Technologies, April 8-9, 2009.
• The Department successfully organized a 2 day National Conference "NCVESCOM ‘10” – Third National Conference on VLSI, Embedded Systems, Signal processing & Communication Technologies, April 2-3, 2010.
