The students are prepared for community orientation through the NSS Units. Three NSS Units with 300 members (boys and girls) and 3 NSS
Officers actively conduct blood donation camps, village adoption programmes and literacy programmes.
Permission was granted to the NSS volunteers of AVIT by the
Member Secretary of the CMDA, Chennai to clean and
landscape Koyambedu Market in Chennai. The student
volunteers along with NSS
Programme Officers worked on this project for about six months.
The work included cleaning of the bushes, mending the land,
adding fertilizers, planting saplings
and seedlings of flowering plants and regular watering. The students showed
a lot of interest and enthusiasm during these visits.
The letter of appreciation was received from the CMDA on 29.10.2008 and we
are grateful for the same. We hope to make
this project a regular feature with our NSS Volunteers.
